I am a firm believer that one can never watch too many scientific animations, and for that reason I find the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s BioInteractive website to be an online gold mine. The information is generally divided into 13 topics (neuroscience, infectious diseases, stem cells, evolution, obesity, cancer, genomics and chemical genetics, sex determination, biological clocks, cardiovascular, immunology, DNA and RNA, if you were wondering), and these topics are taught via videos, animations, and lectures. Entire lectures from the HHMI Holiday and Special Lecture series can be downloaded, or one can subscribe to the Podcasts. Additionally, there are five virtual labs on the site, if you want to be even more interactive. BioInteractive is a site that can (and should) be enjoyed by students, teachers, and the general public alike!
